Achieve Squeaky-clean Vocals with Zero Learning Curve

Cleaning up a noisy vocal track can be a time-intensive endeavor — unless you have Waves Clarity Vx. This ultra-powerful yet eminently easy-to-use plug-in offers high-fidelity noise reduction for vocals with lightning-fast results. Powered by Waves Neural Networks technology, Clarity Vx's one-knob interface yields clean vocals with zero learning curve. A formidable audio restoration solution for musicians, producers, mix engineers, and content creators, Clarity Vx tackles hiss, hum, and other noise with ease, leaving you with a squeaky-clean track that's free of processing artifacts. Whether you're working on a mix, a podcast, or a video, Clarity Vx is guaranteed to save you hours of studio time.

Intuitive one-knob user interface

We've used every noise reduction solution under the sun here at Sweetwater, and we've found Waves Clarity Vx to offer remarkable results, especially when you consider how easy it is to use. All you need to do is turn the plug-in's large control knob clockwise to increase the amount of processing. Despite this simplicity, Clarity Vx includes several convenient features. The Neural Network selection toggles through DSP models that change the focus of the processing. The Neural Network reset button clears the plug-in's history cache. Analysis sets how the Neural Network analyses the input signal. Width adjusts the size of your stereo output signal. Clarity Vx's waveform FFT display shows you the input signal and noise reduction. What's more, Clarity Vx can be used in both mono and stereo, and as either a real-time channel insert or as an offline processor.

Waves Clarity Vx Plug-in Features:

  • Offers high-fidelity noise reduction for vocals with lightning-fast results

  • Employs Waves Neural Networks AI-based technology
  • 1-knob interface yields clean vocals with zero learning curve

This Is Incredible

After installing the Waves Clarity Vx Noise Reduction Plug-in on my 10-year-old, but pretty capable PC, I decided to put it to the test.

I tested it on a few spoken-word samples that I made with various types of microphones, with different types of background noises, from extremely loud rain to an air conditioning system blowing directly at the microphone, and it removed all of the background noise without any noticeable artifacting, I'm impressed.

Other software that I've used worked fairly well at removing the background noise, but it would also make my voice sound very highly processed and almost robotic, whereas Clarity Vx left my voice sounding pretty natural, at least in my testing.

Although there may be other situations where Clarity Vx may not do quite as well, I personally have not come across any of those situations myself.

I've seen comments saying that this plugin does not play well if you're using a MAC with an M1 chip, so I would definitely recommend that you test it out first if possible before purchasing, but as a PC user myself, it works great for me.

It's almost unbelievable what this plugin is capable of, this can literally save you from having to rerecord your audio, thus saving time and money.

I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

What kind of magic is this?

I recently shot four hours of audio/video in the only space in my house where I have room for a green screen, camera, mic boom, etc. Unfortunately, it's near the area where the A/C air handler is. When it's running, the noise floor is quite high. I've been making several passes with two different NR plug-ins to achieve barely acceptable results, with remaining artifacts that bug me.

Enter Clarity VX. I opened the raw audio file, opened the plug-in, and was completely blown away. It's super-transparent. There are very few settings to fuss with, and there's really not much need anyway; it just sort of knows what to do. It eliminates the noise in one run that it took me several passes and a lot of finesse with settings to do with other products.

I hate the phrase "no brainer," but I can't think of another one more appropriate for this product.

Quite good at what it does and has some un-intuitive "Swiss Army Knfe" use-cases/applications

I originally bought Waves DeReverb (a sister Waves product) because the singer in one of my bands prefers to bath her vocals at gigs in way more reverb than I prefer.

But we're in the habit now using our digital mixer to record EACH show multi-track to a thumb drive. Then... if people post fan-shot videos we will download them, replace the audio with fully processed audio from the multi-track (EQ, compression, gating, and yeah... if needed a little pitch-correction), and then replacing the original cell-camera (crappy) audio with this improved audio.

Waves DeReverb is pretty much PERFECT at solving reverb problems (and removing "room" artifacts from recording in less-than-ideal home studios, even those with some sound treatment). But the tracks we get still often have other artifacts going on, particularly mic'd tracks of things OTHER than vocals which DeReverb AI seems to be tuned for in terms of what it sees as the primary/desired source.

Me? I see this as sorta a similar product - perhaps with a lot of shared software with DeReverb - but whose AI model is more aimed at other artifacts besides reverb.

I'm NOT going to tell you that it works as flawlessly as DeReverb in MY personal experience. But what I am prepared to say is that it works more than well enough in MANY applications to justify its small price.

Not substantial for my uses

Going to purchase a plug-in that covers all instruments and not just vocals. Wish I would have know this before ordering it.

Definitely Regret Purchasing This

This plugin sounds fine before mixing down, but once a final wave is created it's the cause of aggressive highs and lows in volume, like as if you set the threshold of a gate too high. It's not usable to me if the final mix includes a track Clarity was one, causing the track to be so aggressively terrible and degraded.

Since the early days of DAW software, Waves has been a dominating force in music and audio production. For those of us here at Sweetwater who've been recording since the industry switched over to computer-based studios, it's impossible to imagine sessions without L series Ultramaximizers, MaxxBass, and other staples. Since then, we've been impressed every time Waves has brought top producers such as Jack Joseph Puig and Chris Lord-Alge to Sweetwater to show off their next cutting-edge creations, and Waves is constantly adding new and innovative plug-ins to their catalog. And with cool new gear such as their SoundGrid series, Sweetwater engineers have discovered just how easy it is to use Waves plug-ins live.
