What's in Your Mic Locker?

The Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 fits the bill for a stage-tough dynamic handheld vocal mic. Dynamic mics are rugged, moisture-resistant and have relatively high gain (as compared with condenser mics), making them ideal for live vocals and for miking (boisterous) amplified instruments. The XM8500's cardioid pickup pattern captures your lead singer or guitar cab, while rejecting off-axis sound. It exhibits an impressive frequency response of 50Hz to 15kHz (with a mid-frequency presence rise for enhanced voice projection), and incorporates a two-stage pop filter. Your mic locker needs a Behringer Ultravoice XM8500. Or two.

Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 Features at a Glance:
  • Dynamic vocal microphone with smooth mid-frequency presence rise for excellent voice projection
  • Ultra-wide frequency response for brilliant and transparent sound
  • Extremely high signal output lets your voice cut through
  • Cardioid characteristic minimizes background noise and feedback
  • Shock mount system to cut down handling noise
  • Integrated spherical wind and pop noise filter
  • Microphone stand adapter and impact-resistant carrying case included
  • High-quality components and exceptionally rugged construction ensure long life
Put the stage-tough Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 to work for you!

Great choice!

I haven't A/B'd it with an sm58 or a sennheiser, but having used those mics in gigs for years, I can say that this mic does it's job very well & I hear NOTHING lacking. Get one - or more!
Music background: Gigging musician for 30+ years.....

Perfect for the price

Excelent microphone, similar to sm58 Shure.
Best Buy for my money.

Not a Budget Mic

Just yesterday I brought this in to our studio to compare it to the SM58's that we normally use. It sounds great. I'm no audiophile, but in a live setting, the volume and the sound quality seemed as good as the SM58. This is not a budget microphone. This is actually just a good microphone at a budget price. Solid build quality too, it's a hefty microphone and it comes with a slightly cheap but sturdy enough case. Absolutely incredible at this price point.

My favorite wired mic

These things are great. Don't let the inexpensive price fool you. These sound good and handling noise is minimal when compared to other mics in this price range. I've used these on some big stages and actually prefer the sound of the Behringer over SM58 and if you lose one or damage one you're bot out a lot of $$$. Give these a try!!

Just Wow!

Had this microphone for awhile and only bought it for price. Two years later, I'm comparing it to a podmic and a broadcast headphone. Less background noise coming through...wife in the kitchen I mean, less metallic sounds as compared to the broadcast headphones....finally took off the windscreen to see what the brand name was. I was amazed at how low the price is after buying two podmics....going to get a second one now. Unbelievable!!!
